This VR experience, an extension of the “Vader Immortal” series, allows players to train with a lightsaber and the Force against waves of training droids and Star Wars creatures.

“In ‘Vader Immortal,’ audiences were able to feel what it was like to battle with a lightsaber in virtual reality,” said Vicki Dobbs Beck, ILMxLAB executive in charge. “We’re thrilled to bring that sense of wish fulfillment to even more fans with the new ‘Lightsaber Dojo’ experience.”

During the experience, players will enter a pop-up training arena, put on an Oculus Quest VR headset, and travel to Mustafar, the fiery planet that Darth Vader calls home.

While training, players will choose from a variety of legacy lightsabers used by Star Wars characters, and will use the Force to grab enemies, trigger traps, and throw the lightsaber across the room. Afterward, players will be able to compare their scores with others on a national leaderboard as they work on their skills.

The first six “Lightsaber Dojo” pop-ups are now open at:

  • Cinemark’s Century Cinema 16 in Mountain View, Calif.
  • Century Huntington Beach and XD in Huntington Beach, Calif.
  • Ontario Mills in Ontario, Canada
  • Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, Calif.
  • Grapevine Mills in Grapevine, Texas
  • The Mills at Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth, N.J.

Tickets are available on a walk-up basis at $9.99 per person.
