“The Lion King” log flume ride will open at Disney Adventure World in Paris, France.
While currently called Walt Disney Studios Park, as of March 29, 2026, Disneyland Paris’ second gate will be renamed Disney Adventure World. This is a result of significant change in this theme park’s vision, and that includes the upcoming “Lion King” attraction.
The Imagineers’ big reveal
Disney officially announced the “Lion King” ride for Disney Adventure World back in August of 2024 at D23. A model was shown at this “Ultimate Disney Fan Event,” giving future guests a better peek at what to expect.

‘The Lion King’ ride opening date
While Disney has not announced an exact opening date for the “The Lion King” ride, it is expected to open sometime after this year.

Ride system
“The Lion King” ride will be an indoor/outdoor log flume with indoor Audio-Animatronics scenes. The log flume concept appears to be similar to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which replaced Splash Mountain at both Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California.

Location of ‘The Lion King’ ride
The ride will be the center of a new land coming to Disney Adventure World, which is being built on undeveloped land surrounding Adventure Bay.

This is a new ride Disney is building from the ground up, rather than repurposing an existing ride with a new theme.
The story
While some concept art Disney shared depicts the 2019 remake version of the characters, the company confirmed the ride will be based on the 1994 animated classic, “The Lion King.”

Riders will follow Simba’s journey as he grows from a cub to become the king of Pride Rock.
