‘Lion King’ Royal Suite in New York

“The Lion King” is one of the most popular musicals in New York City, drawing in millions of attendees each year — and for good reason. When I heard about “The Lion King” Royal Suite at Hilton Times Square, I knew I had to check it out. After my recent stay at the “Aladdin” Times Square Palace Suite at this same hotel back in March, I knew my stay at this one would be nothing short of magical.

This 23rd-floor suite inspired by Disney’s “The Lion King” on Broadway and was designed by Devin Sparkles Design, Broadway’s top dressing room designer.

Report from staying in New York’s ‘Lion King’ Royal Suite

As soon as I walked up to the yellow-painted door of the one-bedroom suite, I knew I was in for a stay filled with nature-filled luxury. As soon as I opened the door, I felt transported to the Serengeti. In contrast to the Palace Suite inspired by the “Aladdin” musical, I liked the spacious feel here and the fact that this one has a bedroom.

Some of the suite highlights of “The Lion King” Royal Suite include:

  • Pan-Asian-inspired woven baskets
  • puppet birds
  • jungle-themed bathroom
  • hand-painted patterned chairs
  • framed costume sketches

Although a small detail, I enjoyed the savannah-like lighting effects created by the orange and yellow lights with shadows cast by plants throughout. I also found the costume sketches and various portraits throughout the room to be very interesting, as I had seen the Broadway show a couple of years ago and was most awe-struck by the beauty of their design. I liked how I was able to relax on the couches and watch some television while enjoying my refreshments before heading into the bedroom to finish up some work at the themed desk area.

I had no idea what the themed dessert was going to be, so when a chef knocked on our door with a tray filled with the Serengeti Sunrise mocktails and a s’mores treat, I was thrilled. Although this was a simple bite, it was a sweet way to start my neat stay at the resort.
