Live like an ogre in Shrek’s Swamp
A man’s home may be his castle, but an ogre’s home is his swamp, and that’s precisely what the Shrek’s Swamp Airbnb listing in the Scottish Highlands is offering.
According to the listing, Shrek’s Swamp is a “stumpy, secluded haven fit for a solitude-seeking ogre” (or “Shrek” fan) and features all “the cozy comforts Shrek has accumulated over the years.”
Booking opens on Oct. 13, 2023, at 1 p.m. EDT for one two-night stay for up to three guests (ages 5+) on Oct. 27-29, 2023. Click here for details.
During their stay in Shrek’s Swamp, guests can:
- Bask in the glow of earwax candlelight
- Satisfy a hankering for a parfait (because everybody likes a parfait)
- Take advantage of the privacy of Shrek’s outhouse (you know the one)
- Enjoy a stack of freshly made waffles in the morning
In addition to their host (Donkey, of course), guests will be greeted by an on-site concierge who will arrange meals. Please note that bathroom facilities will be located approximately 65 feet away. In addition, the Shrek’s Swamp does not have Wi-Fi, TV, or air conditioning (the Swamp is heated).
I’m swamp-sitting while Shrek’s away this Halloween, and I’m absolutely delighted to invite you in for a fairytale stay. Oh, and never mind the “BEWARE” signs. They’re probably for decoration.
