A sweet transformation is underway for the Main Street Confectionery at Magic Kingdom as Walt Disney World prepares for the beginning of its 50th anniversary celebration this October.

The iconic location for sweet treats will soon receive a fresh new look, an expanded layout with more room to shop, and interactive opportunities for guests to customize their confections.

To bring these changes to life, both Main Street Confectionery and The Chapeau will close for refurbishment on March 29, with many of the treats from the Confectionery moving to the Emporium and Main Street Cinema during the closure. Hats and Mickey Mouse Ears from The Chapeau will move to Box Office Gifts at the Town Square Theater, and collectibles and artwork will move to Bonjour! Village Gifts in Fantasyland.

Other updates have been appearing in the park, like freshly-painted castle turrets and gold leaf being added to Fantasyland attractions.

Stay tuned for more updates as Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary approaches!
