Maker Faire originated in 2006 in the San Francisco Bay Area as a project of the editors of “Make:” magazine. It has since grown into a worldwide network of independently-produced events. Celebrating it’s 10th anniversary, Orlando’s two-day family-friendly event gives “makers” of all ages the chance to show off what they’re making, from tech enthusiasts and crafters to scientists and garage tinkerers.

“Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and love sharing what they can do, said founder Ian Cole. “From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these ‘makers’ to show their hobbies, experiments or projects.”

The event will showcase invention, creativity, and resourcefulness, including Power Racing, Combat Robots, Nerdy Derby, and cosplay makers, as well as hands-on activities, workshops, and competitions.

Hands-on Workshops – Learn from people who make, play, tinker, and hack, including robotics, cosplay, STEM & STEAM, crafts, science, electronics, tools, and a few things you’ve never seen before.

Robot Ruckus (included with Maker Faire Orlando tickets) – See robot builders having fun while destroying each other’s toys with several local teams from the “BattleBots” show on the Discovery Channel and Discovery+, as well as local robots ranging in size from one to 250 pounds. Power Racing – A fun-filled racing experience where makers construct their own machines to race – some spending up to $500 on a racer that looks like a children’s ride or toy.
