Pokémon characters in McDonald’s Happy Meal collection

Each Pokémon Happy Meal will include one Pokémon-themed toy and two Pokémon trading cards, while supplies last. The toys are miniature Happy Meal boxes featuring familiar Pokémon characters, complete with the iconic golden arches handles.

The collection features 15 Pokémon designs:

• Pikachu: The iconic yellow Electric-type Pokémon with red cheeks.
• Eevee: A brown, foxlike Pokémon known for its many evolutions.
• Charmander: An orange Fire-type Pokémon with a flame-tipped tail.
• Bulbasaur: A green Grass- and Poison-type Pokémon with a plant bulb on its back.
• Squirtle: A blue Water-type turtle Pokémon.
• Piplup: A blue penguin Pokémon from the Sinnoh region.
• Torchic: An orange, chicklike Fire-type Pokémon.
• Sobble: A shy blue Water-type lizard Pokémon.
• Sprigatito: A green, catlike Grass-type Pokémon.
• Munchlax: A blue-and-cream Pokémon known for its enormous appetite.
• Umbreon: A black Dark-type Pokémon with yellow rings and red eyes.
• Weedle: A small, yellow Bug- and Poison-type Pokémon with a horn on its head.
• Espurr: A gray, catlike Psychic-type Pokémon with large ears.
• Minccino: A gray, chinchillalike Normal-type Pokémon with large ears and a fluffy tail.
• Rowlet: A round, owl-like Grass- and Flying-type Pokémon with a leaf bow tie.

The promotion also includes Pokémon trading cards, with 15 different cards reportedly available to collect. Each Happy Meal comes with two cards, although the complete card checklist has not yet been confirmed.

Pokémon Happy Meal toys double as collectible charms

McDonald’s revealed that the collectibles can also be used as charms, allowing fans to attach their favorite Pokémon to keys, backpacks, bags and other accessories.

The promotion also includes 15 Pokémon trading cards, including select holofoil designs. Each participating Happy Meal comes with one toy and two cards, while supplies last.

Pokémon Happy Meal coming to more countries through February 2027

The Pokémon Happy Meal promotion will extend beyond the United States, with McDonald’s announcing an international rollout spanning four months. The first wave arrives in November 2026 in the United States, Canada, Australia, Fiji, France, New Zealand and Spain. More than 40 additional markets are scheduled for December, followed by countries including Mexico, Brazil and Italy in January 2027. Ireland and the United Kingdom will receive the promotion in February 2027. Exact launch dates for most countries have not been announced.

A report from PokéBeach says McDonald’s will launch its next Pokémon Trading Card Game Happy Meal promotion in the United States on Nov. 5, 2026. The promotion is expected to continue through Dec. 9. McDonald’s and The Pokémon Company have not officially announced the promotion

If the report proves accurate, each Happy Meal will include a four-card Pokémon TCG booster pack containing one holo card and three non-holo cards.

There will reportedly be 15 cards to collect, including six printed with the special confetti holofoil finish associated with previous McDonald’s Pokémon promotions.

Nintendúo says indications are that the new promotion will eventually reach Spain. German Pokémon site PokeZentrum reports the international rollout but says dates outside the U.S. have not been confirmed.

PokéBeach also reports customers will be able to choose between a Pokémon toy and a “Pokémon Essential Handbook.” The toy could serve as a card display, although that detail has not been confirmed.

Which Pokémon cards could be in McDonald’s Happy Meals?

No reliable card checklist has surfaced yet. PokéBeach, which first reported the November dates and other details, specifically says it does not yet know which Pokémon will appear. McDonald’s Pokémon sets have traditionally consisted of reprints of existing cards.

Pikachu seems like a natural choice. The character is at the center of the Pokémon TCG’s official 30th Celebration expansion, with 30 different Pikachu illustrations appearing in the anniversary set. Pikachu was also one of the confetti holofoil cards in the previous McDonald’s Pokémon collection.

Other familiar Pokémon being highlighted in official 30th Celebration products include Eevee and Lucario, while Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres appear together as promotional cards in the 30th Celebration Poster Collection.

The previous 15-card McDonald’s collection included Charizard, Pikachu, Miraidon, Jigglypuff, Hatenna, Dragapult, Quagsire, Koraidon, Umbreon, Hydreigon, Roaring Moon, Dragonite, Eevee, Rayquaza and Drampa. Seven received the confetti holo treatment.

Pokémon cards have been a recurring McDonald’s Happy Meal collectible for 15 years. The first U.S. Pokémon TCG Happy Meal promotion arrived in 2011, followed by nearly annual collections through 2019. After skipping 2020, the cards returned for Pokémon’s 25th anniversary in 2021, with additional collections following in 2022, 2023 and early 2025.
