An NFT is a unique unit of data that allows digital content to be logged and authenticated on cryptocurrency blockchains, primarily Ethereum. To qualify for the complimentary NFT, guests must purchase or reserve an advance ticket through the AMC website or on the AMC mobile app between Feb. 10, 2022, and end of day EST on Feb. 14, 2022, for any showtime of “The Batman” at any AMC U.S. location from Mar. 4 through Mar. 6, 2022. The ticket must be scanned in the theater to qualify.

Those who purchase tickets for (and attend) special pre-release fan events, including DC Presents: “The Batman” Fan First Premieres exclusively in IMAX on Mar. 1, 2022 (tickets on sale Feb. 8, 2022) and the AMC Investor Connect screening on Mar. 2, 2022, can also receive “The Batman” NFT.

“We are excited to fill AMC Theatres across the country this March with DC fans enjoying ‘The Batman,’ said AMC Chairman and CEO Adam Aron. “Rewarding early ticket purchasers with this limited edition ‘The Batman’ will deliver fans more of the franchise they love.”

AMC will deliver the NFT codes and redemption instructions via email on Mar. 8, 2022, to the email address used during the ticket transaction. The NFT will be redeemed from the nft.dcuniverse.com platform created by Palm NFT Studio and is subject to its terms and conditions (registration with Palm NFT Studio is required). There is a limit of one NFT per transaction.

Directed by Matt Reeves (“The Planet of the Apes” franchise), “The Batman” stars Robert Pattinson (The “Twilight” franchise, “Tenet,” “The Lighthouse”) in the dual role of Batman and the reclusive billionaire Bruce Wayne. Also starring are Zoë Kravitz (“Big Little Lies,” “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald”) as Selina Kyle; Paul Dano (“Love & Mercy,” “12 Years a Slave”) as Edward Nashton; Jeffrey Wright (“No Time to Die,” “Westworld”) as James Gordon; John Turturro (the “Transformers” films, “The Plot Against America”) as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard (“The Magnificent Seven,” “Interrogation”) as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Jayme Lawson (“Farewell Amor”) as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; with Andy Serkis (the “Planet of the Apes” films, “Black Panther”) as Alfred; and Colin Farrell (“The Gentlemen,” “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”) as Oswald Cobblepot.

  1. In theory, movie companies will be able to sell excerpts from your favorite movies in the form of NFT – meaning that you could be the sole owner of a token tied to the final scene in Titanic or the dance from Singin’ in the Rain. However, unless you have other arrangements with the copyright holder, you won’t receive royalties at all every time that movie is shown, but you can make money by re-selling those scenes.
