Nemo’s Cove water play area opens Aug. 1 at Disneyland

The transformation of Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel into Pixar Place Hotel at the Disneyland Resort will be complete this winter, but beginning Aug. 1, 2023, overnight guests can cool off at Pixel Pool, take a ride on Crush’s Surfin’ Slide, and splash at Nemo’s Cove.

The hotel’s all-new Nemo’s Cove water play area features characters from “Finding Nemo,” including Crush the sea turtle perched atop a 186-foot-long water slide and Hank – the cranky septopus from “Finding Dory” – hanging out at the pop-jet splash pad.

Later this year, a family play court will offer interactive activities inspired by favorite characters from Pixar’s short films, including “La Luna,” “Bao,” “For the Birds,” “Burrow,” and the love-struck umbrellas from “The Blue Umbrella.” The pool deck will also feature character-inspired firepits.

This fall, the resort’s new lobby-level restaurant, Great Maple, will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day, with menu items like Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Maple Bacon Doughnuts, Cajun Shrimp & Cheddar Biscuit Benedict, and Soda Pop-Braised Baby Back Ribs.

Great Maple will also have a full bar and offer food and beverage service at the pool, a new grab-and-go coffee shop and café near the lobby, and the hotel’s new concierge lounge.

Last but certainly not least, guests will be greeted by the iconic Pixar Lamp balancing atop its ball beneath a whimsical character-inspired mobile in the lobby atrium this winter.

We’ll continue to follow the hotel’s transformation into the only fully Pixar-themed hotel in the U.S., including the ongoing addition of images and characters from Pixar films featured in the hotel’s lobby. During the refurbishment, overnight guests with valid park tickets and reservations can still enjoy the benefits of staying on the property, including early park entry and an exclusive entrance to Disney California Adventure Park.
