New Epcot fountain revealed at Walt Disney World
The past, present, and future have come together today at Walt Disney World, thanks to the newly-revealed Epcot fountain at the park’s entrance.
Overnight, crews removed the construction walls from the main entrance plaza of Epcot, offering guests their first full look at the beginning of the park’s transformation.
The Epcot fountain area now features new planters, pathways, landscaping, and a fun new color palette that will eventually tie into the park’s four neighborhoods – World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature, and World Showcase.
In front of Spaceship Earth is a reimagined fountain, standing in the spot of the original that welcomed guests to the park in 1982. In the center of the fountain is a light, a unique liquid-cooled fixture designed with new capabilities that compliment the fountain’s changing colors and will coordinate with Spaceship Earth’s upcoming lighting package.
Three acrylic pylons, each standing over 16 feet tall and featuring the park’s logo, surround the fountain and highlight the Epcot of yesteryear.
Stay tuned for more updates on Epcot’s overall transformation!
