New Paradise Nights offers dinner and dolphins at Discovery Cove

by Tharin White

Paradise Nights is a brand new dinner and dolphin encounter experience by SeaWorld at Discovery Cove. This two hour experience invites guests into Discovery Cove after hours for family-style meals, unlimited drinks and animal encounters.

You’ll start your night checking in at the Discovery Cove Lobby. From here you can verify you are over 21 for unlimited adult beverages throughout the night. Every attendee will be given a lanyard with their photo and table number on it.

Afterwards, everyone will be lead down the nature trail to beachside dining. Upon finding your table you’ll be invited to try out the signature cocktails and grab a meal. Every item is served buffet style, from herb roasted beef to pan seared salmon and Hawaiian chicken. There is also a kids buffet which offers chicken nuggets, french fries and mac-and-cheese.

During your meal, animal ambassadors will also make an appearance. On our preview night, we got to meet Louie the sloth and take a “slothie” with him. Discovery Cove photographers will also be on hand for professional shots of the entire group.

After the main course, everyone will be invited to a make-your-own dessert table. It offers numerous kinds of cakes with plenty of toppings and food accessories.

The pinnacle of your evening is the information-packed dolphin encounter. This approximentally-18-minute-long experience will feature a group of dolphins with their trainers. The dolphins range from babies to adults. The dolphins will show off their husbandry behaviors, play with toys and do some tricks. It is emphasized that all of the dolphins actions are voluntary, and the animal’s care was a large part of the presentation. The lead trainer spoke about dolphins’ natural behaviors, and how everyone can do their part to save these animals.

The experience costs $65 and lasts two hours. You don’t have to do a day at Discovery Cove to attend Paradise Nights, but it can be added on to a full-day experience. You also don’t need to wear any sort of swim-wear, as you won’t be getting into the water. To book a visit, visit DiscoveryCove.com.
