Unbelievable new Toy Story 5 Mattel toys revealed ahead of Pixar sequel
Disney and Mattel are giving fans an early look at the “Toy Story 5” toy line, and some of the newly revealed products are among the most ambitious toys ever created for the franchise.

Recent previews shared by outlets including TechRadar and License Global showcased a wide range of products tied to Pixar’s next sequel, from advanced interactive figures to oversized collectibles and racing sets.
Buzz and Woody get major tech upgrades
Leading the lineup are Ultimate Action Buzz and Woody figures that feature animatronics, voice features, clap and pose recognition, and the ability to interact with one another when nearby.
It sounds like some of the most sophisticated “Toy Story” toys released to date.
Toys vs. tech is not just the movie plot anymore
“Toy Story 5” centers on toys competing with modern electronics for children’s attention. Ironically, the merchandise line appears to embrace the same battle by turning traditional toys into tech products.

Giant Bullseye, Hot Wheels, and more
The wider collection includes products that go far beyond standard action figures, including:
- Giant Bullseye plush and feature toys

- Bullseye RC ride-on style toys
- Hot Wheels Superstar Speeders sets

The new toys look amazing… and a little unsettling
Some of the animatronic facial movements and reactions shown in previews could strike parents and kids as a little creepy, especially when compared with the simpler charm of older Toy Story toys.
Part of the appeal of classic Buzz and Woody figures was that they looked like the characters without trying to fully mimic them. Once blinking eyes, synced speech, and responsive movement enter the picture, reactions may be more divided.

My son just saved up enough money to buy the traditional Buzz Lightyear toy, and now these new versions show up.
That probably sums up how many families will feel this summer. Just when you think you’ve purchased the definitive Buzz, Disney and Mattel unveil a smarter, more interactive model with more phrases, more movement, and more reasons for kids to want an upgrade.
Then again, my son is absolutely in love with the newly upgraded Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, so alas, I may just have to roll with the new tech themes that are emerging.
With “Toy Story 5” now in theaters, these toys are the start of Disney’s larger merchandise rollout.
