New updates shared for Epcot during D23 Fantastic Worlds Celebration

A few new details related to the ongoing transformation of Epcot were shared during a recent virtual panel as part of D23 Fantastic Worlds Celebration.

Among a few expected updates, like a look inside Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind as it continues construction, we got some unexpected news related to the park’s revamped entrance.

Earlier this year, new pylons were installed as part of the work being done on the new fountain at the base of Spaceship Earth. Thanks to the panel, we now know that this new fountain will be completed and unveiled by the end of 2020. In addition, the fountain and Spaceship Earth will get new lighting packages.

The fountains and barges that will be used for Epcot’s new nighttime spectacular, “Harmonious,” will also have a display to enjoy during the day! As shown in the concept art above, the display will offer an ambient daytime visual in World Showcase Lagoon when the sun is out.
