The first major theme park to open in the United States in a decade, Legoland Florida got off to a busy start with thousands of visitors lining up near the park’s entrance before dawn for the 10 a.m. opening ceremony.

Celebrate Halloween with the Count and his Sesame Street friends at Busch Gardens
Busch Gardens will host a family friendly Halloween lunch and party on Oct. 22. The Halloween Monster Mash Dine will encourage lunchtime guests to do the Monster Mash and join in a costume parade. During the lunch the Count and his Sesame Street friends will interact with the crowd.

Free admission for Boktoberfest Saturday at Bok Tower Gardens
Bok Tower Gardens is hosting the third annual Boktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011. Visitors will receive free admission from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. The event features live entertainment, German food, craft and seasonal beers, tree climbing, face painting, pumpkin painting, prize drawings and more.
