Oogie Boogie Bash, Haunted Mansion Holiday, Plaza de la Familia, return to Disneyland for Halloween Time
Halloween Time returns to the Disneyland Resort beginning Sept. 1, 2023, with the return of fan-favorites Plaza de la Familia, Haunted Mansion Holiday, and the separately-ticketed Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party.
Halloween Time in Disneyland Park
The Disneyland Resort will become the spookiest place on earth From Sept. 1 through Oct. 31, 2023, with new and returning seasonal treats, new Halloween outfits with bat details for Mickey and his pals, and the beloved “Nightmare Before Christmas-“themed overlay of the Haunted Mansion, which will continue its annual tradition with a new spook-tacular gingerbread house in the ballroom.
The Halloween fun starts as soon as guests enter the park, thanks to the Main Street Pumpkin Festival, including the insta-worthy giant Mickey Mouse Pumpkin.
Every night through Oct. 31, 2023, ominous illuminations will light up Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, Rivers of America, and the façade of “it’s a small world” (MagicBand+ adds “sympathetic vibrations”) – and on select nights, the fan-favorite “Halloween Screams” fireworks spectacular will light up the skies.
To make way for “Halloween Screams,” “Wondrous Journeys” will have its last performance of the year on Aug. 31, 2023.
Halloween Time in California Adventure Park
From Sept. 1 through Nov. 2, 2023, the Día de los Muertos celebration at Plaza de la Familia will feature family crafts, a celebratory menu inspired by Mexican cuisine at Paradise Garden Grill, and a street performance featuring Folklórico dancers, Mariachi musicians, and characters and songs from Disney and Pixar’s Academy Award-winning “Coco.” In addition, Ramone will honor Día de los Muertos with an ofrenda celebrating the life of Doc Hudson in Cars Land.
But that’s not all. All of Cars Land will be transformed into Radiator Screams, with the residents and their establishments decked out in their Haul-O-Ween best. The land’s family-friendly attractions will also undergo seasonal transformations into Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O- Ween. Plus, for the first time, Guido will sport a ghoulish “car-stume” as he welcomes guests to the Casa Della Tires.
As the sun goes down, the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! thrills go up as the attraction transforms into Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark, a horrifyingly harrowing adventure to save Groot from creatures on the loose in The Collector’s Fortress.
Halloween Time in the Downtown Disney District
From Sept. 8 through Nov. 1, 2023, Disney character-themed pumpkins will be hiding in Downtown Disney District for Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit. Guests can purchase a map from participating locations and commemorate their search with a collectible keepsake.
Downtown Disney District will also feature special offerings from select locations, including pumpkin fritters and a Halloween cake.
