We were invited by Universal to check out Halloween Horror Nights on opening night. It was a dark and stormy evening, which set the perfect mood. Luckily the rain only came in spurts. Here’s a look at all the scare zones, the atmosphere, terror and a rare video from inside the houses.
First up is our video look at each of the scare zones:
Next up is a detailed look at Fear, the icon for this year’s anniversary event. Universal Entertainment Show Director Patrick Braillard told us how the idea for Fear was born and details different parts of Fear’s body.
Here’s a rare look inside the haunted houses. Normally photos and video aren’t allowed inside the houses, even for media. But this year, Universal invited five bloggers to the employee preview night. Each were given a video camera to capture whatever they wanted inside and outside the houses. Then Universal edited their videos. This is a compilation of all the scenes from inside the houses.
The bloggers were:
Mark Massarone of horrornightmares.com
Domenik Jost of themeparkinsider.com
Taskmaster from bloodydisgusting.com
Chad Burton of hhnrumors.com
Barb Nefer of examiner.com and Orlando Attractions Magazine
(Look for Barbara’s article on Halloween Horror Nights 20-year history in the Fall issue of Orlando Attractions Magazine.)
Here’s an overview of opening night by Braillard and Senior Vice President of Entertainment Jim Timon.
