Attractions Magazine attended a hosted media preview on, June 25, 2026 as publisher Matt Roseboom and videographer Mikey got an early look inside Level99 before its official opening on June 29.

Located on the West Side between the M&M’S Store and City Works Eatery & Pour House, the 46,800-square-foot venue combines more than 60 interactive challenge rooms, competitive duels, scratch-made food and drinks, and an interactive art scavenger hunt.

The Disney Springs location is the largest Level99 built so far, featuring 63 physical and mental challenges and more than 40 original works of art displayed throughout the venue.

Inside Level99

Level99 brings together short, team-based experiences that blend physical challenges, puzzles, communication, memory, and strategy. Each challenge lasts about one to four minutes. Quick rounds and repeat attempts are designed to keep the energy high.

Players receive a Veloband wristband that tracks their progress, records the stars they earn by completing challenges, and saves their profile between visits.

Every challenge room is designed for teams of two to six players, with gameplay automatically adjusting to the size of the group. Players can change teammates at any time or compete in dedicated Player-vs.-Player Duel games located throughout the venue. Success comes through practice. Players can revisit challenges to improve their scores, earn additional stars, and move up the leaderboard.

More than games

The challenge rooms are spread throughout the venue behind themed entrances that resemble miniature attraction facades. Designs include magician theaters, shrines, circus-inspired stages and other creative environments that tease the experience waiting inside.

Artwork is woven throughout the venue as part of the experience. More than 40 original pieces created by 23 artists are on display, including works from Orlando artist Naomi Haverland and Lakeland artist Juan Travieso.

Hidden glyphs are incorporated into many of the art pieces as part of an interactive scavenger hunt. Players can locate the symbols, enter them at hunt stations, and unlock prizes.

One flexible feature Level99 highlighted during the media preview is that players can pause their timed play session for up to 30 minutes to take a break for food or drinks, then resume playing.

Level99 also noted that a game ticket is not required to visit the restaurant or bar. Visitors are welcome to stop in for a meal or drinks without purchasing a play session, provided the venue is not at capacity.

Founded by an escape room pioneer

Level99 was founded by Matt DuPlessie, who is widely credited with helping pioneer the modern escape room industry through his earlier company, 5 Wits. DuPlessie later founded the experience design company Box Fort, which has worked with clients including Walt Disney Imagineering, the Smithsonian, and Blue Man Group.
