As reported by Blooloop, Pinewood Group’s application for the expansion has been approved by Buckinghamshire Council, meaning that the company can move forward with plans to develop the £500m (About $668 million USD) Screen Hub UK, located adjacent to Pinewood Studios.

This development will expand upon the existing facility and increase the capacity for film production in the U.K. The project is expected to boost the local economy by £355m (About $474 million USD) annually and create over 3,500 new jobs.

The proposed development includes new sound stages, a skills and training hub that will be operated by the National Film and Television School, a business growth hub, and a film-themed visitor attraction titled “Pinewood Studio Experience.”

Films shot at the famous Pinewood Studios include “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” the “Harry Potter” franchise, select films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and more.

This is the latest studio tour-esque offering in a long-running trend of tours that go behind-the-scenes of the movies and television shows fans know and love. Warner Bros. will open the Game of Thrones Studio Tour in 2022, followed by a new location of The Making of Harry Potter in Japan in 2023.
