First look: Pixar celebrates 40th anniversary with Marvel Comics Avengers-style covers
Marvel Comics is helping Pixar celebrate its 40th anniversary with a collection of special variant covers that reimagine iconic Marvel comic book artwork using beloved Pixar characters and stories.

The new Pixar 40th Anniversary Variant Covers will begin rolling out in July and feature mashups inspired by films including “Up,” “Inside Out,” “The Incredibles,” “Brave,” “WALL-E,” “Ratatouille,” “A Bug’s Life,” and “Toy Story 5.”
Each cover pays tribute to a classic Marvel comic while showcasing Pixar’s characters in a fresh new way.
Among the first covers revealed are characters from “The Incredibles” taking over a classic “Fantastic Four” cover, characters from “Inside Out” starring in an “Avengers” homage, and Carl Fredricksen and Russell from “Up” recreating the legendary cover of “Amazing Fantasy #15.”

Pixar and Marvel worlds collide
Marvel says the anniversary collection celebrates four decades of Pixar storytelling by pairing some of the animation studio’s most recognizable characters with landmark moments from Marvel Comics history.
The first wave of covers will arrive throughout July and August, with additional covers planned through September. Four more anniversary variants have yet to be revealed.

One of the most notable entries for Disney fans is a cover inspired by “Toy Story 5,” offering another glimpse at the highly anticipated Pixar sequel ahead of its theatrical release.
Several featured films have Disney Parks connections
Many of the Pixar films represented in the collection also have ties to Disney parks around the world.
“Inside Out” is represented at Disney California Adventure through Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, while “The Incredibles” are featured prominently at Pixar Pier, home to Incredicoaster.

Merida from “Brave” is featured in a few moments of “Happily Ever After” fireworks at Magic Kingdom. Meanwhile, “Up” is set to have its first attraction ever as part of the ongoing transformation of Adventure World at Disneyland Paris.
