Poseidon’s Fury at Islands of Adventure to close on May 10

The Poseidon’s Fury walk-through attraction in Universal Islands of Adventure Park at Universal Orlando Resort will close on May 10, 2023, to make way for new experiences.

Poseidon’s Fury is a twenty-minute live special effects show featuring water effects (including mist screens, cannons, and mortars); four types of lasers; and over 200 individual flame effects.

During the walk-through experience, guests follow an archeologist through the ruins of the ancient Temple of Poseidon – the Greek god of the sea. However, as they journey beneath the ocean, they’re caught in a battle between Poseidon and the evil Lord Darkennon.

Also, on May 10, 2023, “The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle” projection show in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade will begin what Universal Orlando describes as “an extended closure to make way for future show enhancements.”

  1. This is so sad. I love that experience. Granted, the costumes are a bit goofy, but the effects have aged like fine wine.
