Review: Bubble World Experience will ‘blow’ guests minds in Southern California

There are no lack of immersive experiences to visit in Southern California. After a while you might feel like you’ve seen it all. But the Bubble World Experience in Montebello, California is extremely unique and made me feel like a kid again.

As I entered Bubble World, I assumed it would be a nice experience to bring your kids to. But I’m a grown man and I attended with two adult friends. We all unanimously agreed that Bubble World achieved the rare goal of making us leave our worries at the door for a night of carefree wonder.

Bubble World features fourteen unique rooms all with the same goal in mind. To give you that feeling of a child blowing a bubble. That moment of pure joy, magic, and expression. As far as I’m concerned, that goal was impressively achieved.

One of the highlights has to be the giant bubble bath filled with countless clear ball pit “bubbles.” One of the things Bubble World does so well is build things at a scale where adults can take part in it all. In a typical scenario, the kids would be allowed to jump into the ball pit while their guardians stood by watching. Not at Bubble World. Adults were having just as much fun jumping into the balls, hiding below, and popping back up.

Even when Bubble World creates something “simple,” like a room full of balloons, it still achieves creating a sense of wonder. As guests run across the floor, the balloons glide up into the air creating an air of whimsy.

From one extreme to the other, the simplicity of a balloon room will lead you to a space covered with monitors you can walk on all over the floor, and walls filled with mirrors. This underwater experience prompted a “whoa” response from each person turning the corner.

One of my favorite elements is the bubble dome with projected patterns. It was cool to see from the outside, but once inside you’ll never want to leave. It created a sense of calm and ease that was simply refreshing.

If you’re looking for a more individual experience, you can put on a pair of virtual reality glasses as you sit in your own bubble and see yourself float away. Once you’re back in human form, journey onto a hot air balloon as the world is projected 360 degrees around you.

Another wow moment is when you enter the maze of constantly changing light bubbles. It’s like an infinity path that brings a jaw-dropping reaction the whole time you’re inside. You never are quite sure what is real light and what is reflection, until you see yourself on the other end.

Overall, the Bubble World Experience was an impressive experience equally designed for both children and adults. The sense of whimsy created is rare, and I highly recommend checking it out for yourself.
