Review: Build-A-Bear Bakeshop in Orlando offers $10 cupcakes and rooftop views
The world’s largest Build-A-Bear Workshop has a sweet surprise on its third floor: a colorful Bakeshop with cupcakes, coffee and rooftop views of Orlando’s attractions. My son and I visited during a hosted media preview, and the cupcake-decorating activity turned out to be one of our favorite things to do together.

Located at Icon Park on International Drive, the Bakeshop is part of the new three-story Build-A-Bear Workshop, but it also offers a reason to visit beyond shopping for stuffed animals. You do not need to purchase any merchandise in the Workshop in order to visit the Bakeshop.
The Bakeshop offers cupcakes ($10), cookies and cake pops starting at $4.50, brownies from $6.50, cinnamon-sugar pretzels for $7 and cheesecake slices for $8. Guests can also decorate their own cookie for $10, the same price as the cupcake-decorating activity.
For celebrations, there’s even a $55 birthday cake. The menu is almost entirely sweet, however, with no savory meals or snacks listed.

Is the $10 cupcake decorating worth it?
Both the ready-made specialty cupcakes and the decorate-your-own cupcake experience cost $10. Given the choice, I’d recommend decorating your own.
My son and I had fun working on our cupcake together, using frosting and sprinkles to create something uniquely ours. The cupcake initially looked a little small, but it turned out to be a satisfying serving.

And there’s a bonus for frosting lovers like me: extra frosting for dipping! Of course, if you’d prefer to avoid the work or potential mess, the ready-made cupcakes are an appealing alternative at the same price.
Ten dollars is expensive for an ordinary cupcake, but when you factor in the activity and the special setting, I think the decorating experience offers reasonable value.

Coffee, ice cream and rooftop views
The Bakeshop serves coffee, cupcakes, ice cream and bottled beverages. Coffee prices are relatively affordable for an Orlando attraction, so it looks like we have a new spot for a drink and a break along International Drive.
There aren’t any savory food options, so don’t plan on having lunch here.
One of the biggest surprises is the outdoor rooftop seating area, with impressive views toward Universal Epic Universe and the Celestial Park area, including the Helios Grand Hotel.

Depending on visibility and the evening’s entertainment schedule, visitors may also catch theme park fireworks, including Celestial Goodnight and some glimpses of those from Epcot.
It’s a fun setting for a casual date, a gathering with friends or a family treat.
What parents should know before visiting
The Bakeshop is on the third floor of the Build-A-Bear Workshop, accessible by stairs or elevator. Restrooms, a drinking fountain and a water bottle refill station are available.
The menu has limited allergy-friendly options, something parents should consider before promising their children a treat. During our visit, however, the staff was phenomenal in helping us navigate our family’s dietary needs.
Parking is free on levels four to seven at the Icon Park parking garage.

The Build-A-Bear Workshop at Icon Park is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Separate operating hours for the third-floor Bakeshop have not yet been confirmed.
Official opening date is Nov. 5, 2026.
Is the Build-A-Bear Bakeshop worth visiting?
I wouldn’t necessarily make a long drive just for a cupcake, but the Bakeshop is a wonderful addition to a visit to the world’s largest Build-A-Bear Workshop.
If I lived closer, I could see this becoming a regular family outing or even a casual place to meet a friend for coffee and enjoy the views. The new Orlando Build-A-Bear Bakeshop is a great new place to share a sweet treat and take in the exciting scenery.
