(Review) SeaWorld Orlando’s Hotel Transylvania Monster Breakfast starts Halloween early
SeaWorld Orlando debuted its new Hotel Transylvania Monster Breakfast on Aug. 29, a new character dining experience as part of the park’s 2026 Halloween Spooktacular. The seasonal breakfast at SeaFire Grill combines an all-you-care-to-eat buffet with character greetings and a live mini-show featuring Drac, Mavis and other “Hotel Transylvania” characters.
Who says Halloween parties have to wait until after dark?
Drac and Mavis are opening the doors early for a monster morning filled with dancing, Halloween music, mummy-inspired French toast and enough character encounters to assemble a proper boo crew. We were invited to experience the Hotel Transylvania Monster Breakfast on its first morning, and while the food wasn’t necessarily the star of the party, the monsters certainly were.
A monster morning at SeaWorld Orlando
SeaWorld has added touches to SeaFire Grill to slightly resemble Drac and Mavis’ Monster Dread & Breakfast for the seasonal experience; a move that comes shortly after United Parks & Resorts indicated plans to expand its partnerships with established intellectual properties.
The theme begins at check-in, where a Hotel Transylvania podium welcomes guests before they are shown to their tables. Inside, Halloween-themed menus and flickering candles decorate the tables, Halloween music plays throughout the restaurant, and a large screen behind the stage depicts a colorful nighttime scene of the SeaWorld Orlando skyline.

The approximately hour-long experience is fairly structured, which helps keep things moving. You can think of it in roughly 15- to 20-minute increments: the first character greetings, breakfast, a three-song mini-show and then a second round of character greetings.
Character crew
After checking in, we were encouraged to visit the first character stations before heading to the buffet.
Four character greeting areas are set up around SeaFire Grill, with two operating at a time. During the first portion of our breakfast, Drac and Mavis met together at one station, while Johnny had his own greeting area.

After breakfast, all five characters come together for a three-song mini-show, joined by two additional entertainers. The Halloween music, dancing characters and colorful backdrop turn the restaurant into a proper monster party for a few minutes.

Once the show ends, the remaining character stations open, with Frank at one and Murray at another. Altogether, guests have the opportunity to meet Drac, Mavis, Johnny, Frank and Murray during the breakfast.
We particularly liked having all of the character encounters indoors. Hotel Transylvania characters also appear around SeaWorld during Halloween Spooktacular in summer-themed costumes, but the breakfast provides a convenient way to meet the group in air conditioning and without spending additional park time tracking everyone down.
There was one logistical drawback. A couple of dining tables were positioned extremely close to the Drac and Mavis greeting area. Guests seated there weren’t in our photos, but everyone had to maneuver around their tables to approach the characters and take pictures. It wasn’t the diners’ fault, of course, but those tables aren’t ideally placed for either group.
Boo-n appetit: the food
Both sides of the breakfast buffet serve the same selections, although the lines can get long when much of the restaurant heads up at once. The buffet is open for approximately 30 to 40 minutes, and guests can return as often as they like.

The selection includes scrambled eggs, Western scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, brown sugar-glazed ham, biscuits and gravy, potato barrels, French toast sticks, fruit, yogurt, cereal and assorted pastries, along with milk, coffee, juice and soft drinks.
The food was decent, but the savory selections weren’t among the better theme park breakfasts we’ve had. We didn’t particularly care for the ham or biscuits and gravy.

The sweeter side of the buffet fared better, and this is also where some of the best Halloween touches appeared. Doughnuts were decorated as colorful monsters and mummies, while French toast sticks received white drizzle, sprinkles and candy eyes for their own mummy-like appearance. Even the yogurt and granola received a little seasonal decoration.
The doughnuts were fresh and good during our visit, and we appreciated having fresh fruit and cereal among the options.
Ultimately, the food isn’t really why we’d book this breakfast. The theming and characters are the treat.

Is Hotel Transylvania Monster Breakfast worth it?
At $35.99 for adults and $20.99 for children ages 3 to 9, Hotel Transylvania Monster Breakfast makes the most sense when you consider everything packed into the hour instead of judging it solely as a buffet.
You get dedicated encounters with five characters, a three-song mini-show, an all-you-care-to-eat breakfast and an hour inside an air-conditioned restaurant filled with Halloween music and decorations. Annual Pass Members can also use their applicable dining discount.

For families who love Halloween or “Hotel Transylvania,” that’s a fun way to begin a Spooktacular day.
We wouldn’t book it specifically for the food, and there are a couple of operational details that could use some adjustment. But we enjoyed the atmosphere; the characters were plentiful and the structured format kept the experience moving.
After all, who needs to wait until dark for a Halloween party when you can have one with Drac over breakfast?
