When Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas joins the fleet in August 2025, it will be the second Icon-class ship for the line. Star of the Seas will offer some features found only on its sister ship — Icon of The Seas, which launched in January 2024 — such as the Category 6 water park and a unique 1930s-style supper club. All in all, Star of the Seas will boast over 40 different restaurants and bars for guests to check out during 7-night cruises out of Port Canaveral, Fla.

Star of the Seas is scheduled to offer week-long Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises at the end of August 2025. The Caribbean itineraries all include a stop at the cruise line’s Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas. In its Port Canaveral homeport, the massive Icon-class vessel will join another new ship, Utopia of the Seas, which started offering 3- and 4-night cruises to The Bahamas this past July 2024.

Water park and recreation on the Star of the Seas

The Category 6 water park broke records on Icon of the Seas, and Star of the Seas will also offer its six heart-pounding water slides, including a drop slide, mat-racing duo slides, and family raft slides.

Adult-only spaces will include Swim & Tonic swim-up bar with gin-based cocktails and The Hideaway infinity pool, suspended 135 feet above the ocean.

Eight distinct neighborhoods

Star of the Seas’ neighborhoods will include five unique to the Icon-class vessels. These include the the previously mentioned Thrill Island with the Category 6 water park; Chill Island, filled with pools and casual food & drink options; and the Surfside neighborhood featuring the family swim area. Additionally, The Hideaway neighborhood will have a suspended infinity pool, DJ, dedicated bar, terrace, whirlpools, and views. AquaDome is the last Icon-class neighborhood and home to the AquaTheater with its high diver shows, aerialists, robots, dancers, and more.

Familiar Royal Caribbean neighborhood favorites will include Royal Promenade, with The Pearl kinetic art sculpture as well as a host of restaurants, bars, and lounges. Central Park is where cruisers will find the Lincoln Park Supper Club, and Suite Neighborhood is the exclusive space for the suite-life passengers.

“Star of the Seas is the second bold act of this exciting, new era of vacations first introduced with Icon of the Seas,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.

Star of the Seas is the latest of Royal Caribbean’s growth and expansion that will continue with the opening of Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in The Bahamas. Royal Beach Club Paradise Island will be the first of the Royal Beach Club Collection when it opens in late 2025.
