The Rumor Queue: Brazil pavilion coming to Epcot, after all?

by Brittani Tuttle

After much fan speculation and rumors over the years, it seems as though a Brazil pavilion really is coming to Epcot’s World Showcase.

Disclaimer: Unless where otherwise noted, the following is rumor and speculation, and should not be regarded as fact unless confirmed by the companies mentioned.

On Aug. 18, the Twitter account for Mercyhurst University’s Hospitality Management department in Erie, Pa. shared this tweet, seemingly leaking the news about the new pavilion:

While this hasn’t been officially announced by Disney, this rumor seems to be all but confirmed if you believe this tweet and headshot of someone allegedly working on the project. This could very well be one of the surprise reveals shared during the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products panel on Sunday, Aug. 25 at D23 Expo 2019.

Another interesting addition to this rumor is the Epcot poster display in the Disney Parks “Imagining Tomorrow, Today” pavilion at the Expo, which features 40 illustrations of various attractions and World Showcase pavilions at the park, past and present – that is, all except for two.

Could one of the two blacked-out posters be for the new Brazil pavilion? We’ll have to wait until Sunday’s panel to find out. We will have video of the entire panel presentation, so be sure to check out our YouTube channel for that later this weekend.

We will update this story with more details as we learn them, but for now, be sure to stay tuned for more updates on D23 Expo 2019.
