The Rumor Queue: Get ready to ride the Velocicoaster in Jurassic Park

With Universal Orlando’s “epic” announcement on the horizon, a new trademark filing has theme park fans buzzing about a rumored Jurassic Park roller coaster planned for Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

According to the Universal Orlando Automated Permit Bot on Twitter, a new trademark filing for the word “Velocicoaster” was filed on July 24, 2019.

Speculation has surrounded the idea of a new Jurassic World- or Park-themed roller coaster for months, and mysterious construction is well underway along the backside of the Jurassic Park Discovery Center in Islands of Adventure.


For now, we can only speculate as to what this could mean for a future attraction. We’ll update you as this story develops and we wait for official confirmation from Universal Orlando. News on this “Velocicoaster” may come as soon as Thursday during Universal Orlando’s “big news” press conference.
