Sea Life Florida at Legoland: Underwater adventure opens this May
Sea Life Florida aquarium at Legoland Florida opens this May with over 25 exhibits to take guests on an underwater adventure.
Sea Life is the world’s most prominent family of aquariums. A new addition to that family opens May 23, 2025, at Legoland Florida, in Winter Haven, Fla. The Legoland version of Sea Life was first announced in 2023 to open in late 2024.
Sea Life locations exist worldwide. They feature such displays as underwater tunnels and up-close encounters with sea life. More than 20 million guests yearly visit the 50 aquariums and six animal sanctuaries globally. Sea Life worldwide cares for over 180,000 creatures in themed habitats.
Sea Life Florida
This all-new, family-friendly aquarium offers groups opportunities to get up close and personal with marine life and embark on “a voyage of oceanic exploration.” Sea Life Florida will feature 25 interactive exhibits. This includes the main ocean display, showcasing a unique “Theme Park Under the Sea” design. This particular theme cannot be found at any other Sea Life location. At Sea Life Florida, the main ocean display will utilize coral castles, carousel hideaways, and “hotel-like spaces.” These are all designed to keep the animals safe while they explore their underwater world. The ocean habitat features around 150,000 gallons of water, a freshwater gallery, a sting ray pool, and a hands-on invertebrate touch pool.
Like Legoland Florida, this new aquarium attraction is designed with kids in mind. Guests of all ages will also encounter over 3,000 animals from 150 different species. Some examples of animals to expect at Sea Life Florida include blacktip reef sharks, blue-spotted stingrays, and big-belly seahorses. In addition, guests will see fish, jellyfish, and similar creatures from the Florida area and worldwide.
How long will a visit to Sea Life Florida take?
According to Legoland, most guests who visit Sea Life will spend 45-90 minutes viewing exhibits. Of course, this depends on how long they spend at each exhibit.
Admission
Sea Life Florida counts as a separately ticketed attraction from the rest of the Legoland Florida theme park. Guests can purchase a Legoland + Sea Life ticket, or add a Sea Life day to their ticket for $15. Legoland Florida Elite and Gold Annual Passes include access to Sea Life Florida. Additional options to add a Sea Life day will be available to other passholders.
