SeaWorld San Diego has announced a new park experience to coincide with its limited reopening – Zoo Days: Bayside BBQ & Brews.
UPDATE: 09/03/20 – As a result of the State of California’s shift to a new tiered system, San Diego County facilities now have approval to open indoor zoological exhibits at 25 percent capacity.
Because of this change, guests will be able to experience Penguin Encounter, Shark Encounter, and Turtle Reef starting this weekend during Zoo Days: Bayside BBQ & Brews.
This limited capacity, ticketed and reservation-required experience will give guests the chance to enjoy craft brews and BBQ while exploring 40 acres of the park and its outdoor animal exhibits and marine life animal presentations (with physical distancing in place).
Each ticket for this experience includes park entry, access to all of the outdoor animal exhibits and presentations, and a tasting lanyard that includes six food or drink items of the guest’s choice. Additional lanyards will also be available for purchase.
Zoo Days: Bayside BBQ & Brews will run Fridays – Sundays from Aug. 28 – Sept. 27, plus Labor Day, from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
As part of the state safety guidelines for zoos, SeaWorld San Diego will operate as a licensed, permitted and accredited zoo with enhanced health and safety protocols in place. Physical distancing will be observed and face coverings and temperature screenings will be required. Date-specific tickets for this experience must be purchased online and in advance to help manage capacity.
“We want to thank our guests for their continued patience and support, and are beyond excited to announce the launch of this unique zoo experience, in a limited capacity format, as we safely welcome everyone back to the park for Zoo Days: Bayside BBQ & Brews,” said Marilyn Hannes, president of SeaWorld San Diego. “We have enhanced our already strict health and safety measures to implement best practices in health and safety protocols that will promote an outdoor experience for families and friends that is fun, memorable and safe.”
