Sesame Place Philadelphia kicks off 2024 season with a Mardi Gras celebration

In addition to all the favorite Sesame Street-themed attractions, guests can also enjoy Mardi Gras-themed entertainment – including the Sesame Street Mardi Gras Parade – fun photo opportunities with Sesame Street friends dressed in their Mardi Gras best, and exclusive all-new perks for Season Pass Members, all included with park admission.

Sesame Place Philadelphia Mardi Gras Celebration

The family-friendly Sesame Place Philadelphia Mardi Gras Celebration will run from Feb. 17 through March 17, 2024.

All-new this year is Cookie Monster & Chef Gonger’s Pizza Party, where guests can make their own festive and flavorful pizzas at Elmo’s Pizza Kitchen. To top off this interactive and exclusive experience, Cookie Monster and Chef Gonger will meet and snap photos with guests.

Guests can also look forward to the return of fan favorites, including:

• “Elmo the Musical, Live!” – The interactive and imaginative stage show returns to Sesame Studio Theater for a limited-time engagement during the Mardi Gras Celebration.
• The Sesame Street Mardi Gras Parade – Sesame Street friends will celebrate Mardi Gras with floats, dancing, and music in a family-friendly celebration that rolls right through the Sesame Street Neighborhood.
• Mummers Band Shows – On select weekends, guests can dance along to the award-winning Quaker City String Band at Oscar’s Wacky Taxi Stage.

Guests can also gather for a cozy Sesame Street Storytime on the upper level of Elmo’s Pizza Kitchen, earn a prize in the Mardi Gras Mask Scavenger Hunt, and spot strolling entertainment throughout the park, including stilt walkers and bead bike brigades.

Plus, famous New Orleans flavors and Mardi Gras-inspired treats including Jambalaya, Boudin Balls, Cajun Hush Puppies, Chicken Gumbo Shooters, Beignets in powdered sugar, Mardi Gras Cupcakes, Plain and Blueberry Funnel Cakes, and Mardi Gras Bundt Cakes will be available at the Mardi Gras Dine with Elmo & Friends, Cookie Monster’s Foodie Truck, and the Plaza Carts.
