The fun begins this week with the first “snowfall” of winter, flurrying exclusively on Shanghai Disney Resort’s Mickey Avenue. This bit of holiday magic will cover the entire street in sparkling white snow, and last until Jan. 1, 2019.

The Christmas festivities extend across the resort, including in Disneytown, where guests are invited to skate along the resort’s outdoor Wishing Star Skating Rink. This first-time offering for Disneytown will open to guests on Dec. 7.

In the show, Olaf from “Frozen” will take guests on a holiday journey with projections of seasonal traditions on the castle’s façade. The show builds up to a tree-lighting ceremony, where the park’s Christmas tree comes to life with lights and music.

Festive decorations can be found all along Mickey Avenue, as storefronts, lampposts, and rooftops have been decked out with garlands, ornaments, wreaths, and traditional red bows.

This year, Mickey and Minnie and all their friends will be dressed up in brand-new Christmas outfits, ready to spread the holiday spirit throughout the resort. Each morning, guests can join Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and the Shanghai Disneyland Band with “Happy Holidays Mickey!” Guests can enjoy “Christmas Swing” later on in the day, a holiday-themed show filled with songs and Disney pals.

On weekdays, guests can meet Santa Goofy along Mickey Avenue and snap holiday photos together.
