A new Chinese Eastern Airlines plane depicting Duffy and Friends recently set out on its maiden voyage to celebrate the upcoming Duffy Month at Shanghai Disney Resort, happening this September.
The plane flew in from Kunming in southwest China to Shanghai, after an exciting unveiling at the Kunming Changshui International Airport.
Called the Duffy-Friendship Express, this plane is the fourth Disney-themed aircraft to join China Eastern Airlines’ fleet.
A month of Duffy-themed surprises await
This September, guests will be able to enjoy Duffy and Friends like never before. The first-ever “Duffy’s Heartfelt Moments” celebration will be held from Sept. 2-30 at Shanghai Disney Resort, and will feature Duffy-themed decorations throughout the resort, new shows, themed food and beverage offerings, stylish merchandise, and more.
For the celebration, the floral Mickey display that greets guests at the entrance to Shanghai Disneyland will be transformed into a floral Duffy created from thousands of flowers. To add to the atmosphere, the Shanghai Disneyland Band will perform a brand-new Duffy and Friends performance each morning. From Sept. 16-30, a special Duffy parade will travel through Mickey Avenue featuring Duffy, ShellieMay, Gelatoni, and StellaLou alongside a host of dancers.
During the festival, guests can take photos with a Duffy-themed social wall near Il Paperino. Even more photo-ops can be found at the Gardens of Imagination, where guests can place their Duffy plush in cute, miniature settings for a fun photoshoot.
New Duffy merchandise
This September, Shanghai Disney Resort will also introduce new additions to its Duffy and Friends merchandise lineup.
The new Duffy and Friends Rainy Day collection will offer a diverse range of products, including plush toys dressed in raincoats, keychains, crossbody bags, accessories, stationery, and more. There will also be a bell-shaped Duffy and Friends-themed Lolita dress coming to resort stores for the most devoted fans to wear.
Duffy-themed treats for every palate
The fun continues with themed food and beverage items inspired by Duffy and Friends. The Picnic Basket kiosk in Shanghai Disneyland is debuting its first-ever picnic basket, which will have an assortment that includes roasted duck salad wraps with orange mayo, ham and cheese wraps, green garden salads with lemon olive oil, mixed nuts and dried berries, snow crispies, fruit cups and more.
A variety of restaurants throughout the resort are getting in on the Duffy fun. Mickey & Pals Market Café will be transformed into a Duffy-themed restaurant with special décor and overlays inspired by Duffy and his friends. Guests can take part in a Duffy and Friends-themed afternoon tea in the restaurant’s Daisy Room.
Lumière’s Kitchen in the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel will also introduce their first-ever Duffy-themed weekend brunch. Guests will get to meet Duffy and StellaLou before taking in an array of delicate bites and mocktails – and kids can learn new cooking skills in the Duffy-themed Junior Chef Class.
In addition, the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel’s Ballet Café will feature StellaLou-themed desserts like almond chocolate caramel cakes, blueberry cupcakes, Oreo blueberry cookies, ice creams, and more on each Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Duffy Month. The cuteness continues at Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, where guests can enjoy Duffy-themed room amenities and overlays.
