Sharknado 3 teaser features first look at Universal Orlando scenes
Back in February, scenes for the SyFy original movie Sharknado 3 were filmed around Universal Orlando. As the film gets closer to its release date of July 22, the promotional campaign is underway with a new teaser trailer recently being released featuring Universal.
Here’s a look at the 20-second teaser:

This shot from the bridge in CityWalk looks to be an establishing shot for the park. During filming in February, the temperature got pretty cold for Florida, so some extras may be more bundled up than others.

Ryan Newman (Claudia Shepard) and Jack Griffo (Billy) riding front row on Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit.
[hr]
Guests running for their lives out of the Disaster attraction. A movie scene inside the attraction involving sharks in the water finale is expected.

The running from the sharknado continues in CityWalk. Notice the NBC Sports Grill & Brew construction in the back.

Tara Reid (April Wexler) runs outside of the Cabana Bay lobby toward the pool area as a sharknado begins to hit the resort.
What’s so unique about this film is that Universal granted SyFy and the makers of Sharknado 3 access to many rides and locations for the film, with the intent for it to actually be represented as Universal Orlando in the finished film. Below you can see our video of director Anthony C. Ferrante talking about filming in the park:

Universal is not the only Central Florida location to be featured in Sharknado 3. At some point, the storm and characters will make their way to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
According to the official website for the film:
Run like the wind! Hide where you can! The Sharknado is back and this time, the entire east coast is in the eye of the storm. Shearing winds of teeth and death will ravage the Eastern Seabord from Washington D.C. all the way down to Orlando, Florida. It’s up to Fin, April, David Hasselhoff, and a horde of celebrity cameos to save the entire country!
“Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!” debuts on SyFy channel July 22, 2015.
