Six Flags 2023 season features new rides and attractions

New coasters, family rides, water attractions, and events have been announced for the upcoming Six Flags 2023 season at theme parks and water parks across North America.

According to CEO Selim Bassoul, the new lineup of experiences for the Six Flags 2023 season is intended to provide opportunities for guests to “discover something fresh and exciting” at Six Flags parks across North America.

“These new attractions are an exciting opportunity to ramp up the joy of our parks to a whole new level,” Bassoul said. “We can’t wait to share these fun and thrilling experiences with our guests, giving them reasons to visit us multiple times per year […] and create new memories with their families.”

New Attractions and Experiences for Six Flags 2023 Season

  • Aquaman: Power Wave at Six Flags Over Texas – The first water coaster of its kind in North America (and the park’s 14th coaster) that will launch riders backward and forward on more than 2,000 feet of track, up two 150-foot towers, and (after a 90° face down hold), a downward dive at 63 miles per hour, culminating with a final plunge through a giant wave of water.
  • Caribbean Cove at Six Flags White Water – A new interactive water play complex with four water slides and more than 25 interactive water features.
  • Dino Off-Road Adventure at Six Flags New England – A Family attraction that combines animatronic technology and modern ingenuity to take guests on an off-road journey with life-sized dinosaurs, immersive environments, cutting-edge audio, interactive guides, and educational elements.

  • ESIX Gaming at Six Flags Fiesta Texas – A 5,000 square foot, state-of-the-art esports arena and campus with 50 custom-built PC gaming stations, five console stations with next-generation consoles, a live esports tournaments event stage, and more.
  • Kid Flash Cosmic Coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Six Flags Over Georgia – The world’s first single-rail racing coasters with tracks that cross over and under each other multiple times throughout the ride.
  • Rookie Racer at Six Flags St. Louis – A twisting, turning, racing family coaster on a Formula 1-inspired coaster track featuring tight turns, daring drops, and a giant loop.

  • Shark Experience and Rainforest Trail at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom – New state-of-the-art audio and visual enhancements to the parks’ Shark Experience add interactive educational opportunities that complement the walk-through underwater tunnel and floor-to-ceiling windows into a 300,000-gallon exhibit of shark species, exotic fish, and stingrays. The new Rainforest Trail will transport guests to a tropical environment to encounter free-flying butterflies, colorful fish, a sloth, and other exotic wildlife.
  • Splash Island at Six Flags Great Adventure – A brand-new area for young thrill seekers, including 14 new kids’ slides in Hurricane Harbor and a tree house play structure with 50+ play features, from mini slides and curtain waterfalls to an enormous water bucket.

In addition, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor San Antonio at Six Flags Fiesta Texas will debut a water park expansion, including a collection of 11 water slides and raft rides for younger guests.

New Events for 2023

New events at Six Flags parks include “Flavors of the World,” “Viva La Fiesta,” and “Blues, Brews, and BBQ” celebrations.

  • Oktoberfest – The second annual event features authentic German music, food, and entertainment.
  • Kids Boo Fest – A daytime Halloween event with kid-friendly decorations, trick-or-treat trails, costume contests, pumpkin decorating, and spooktacular daytime shows.
  • Fright Fest – The ultimate Halloween haunt featuring over 50 spooky shows and 150+ mazes and haunted houses.
  • Holiday in the Park – A holiday experience with spectacular lights, festive shows, and holiday treats.

Plus, at select Six Flags parks this year, it’s not only spring break; it’s Scream Break, an after-hours event that offers reduced wait times for some of the park’s most popular rides and coasters, plus haunted houses, frightening entertainment, and more.

Six Flags Mexico and Hurricane Harbor Oaxtepe will host three new events in 2023 – Héroes y Villanos Fest, Music & Party Fest, and Gaming & Coaster Fest – plus Fun Walks to give guests extra time to enjoy attractions after the parks close.

Six Flags 2023 Season Pass

Six Flags offers a three-tiered Season Pass Program: the Gold SeasonPass, which offers frequent visits to the theme park through Labor Day; the Platinum SeasonPass, which also includes Hurricane Harbor or White Water water parks, Fright Fest, and Holiday in the Park (at participating parks); and the Diamond SeasonPass, which includes all the advantages of a Platinum Season Pass plus bigger discounts and admission to all Six Flags parks.
