Six Flags just made 4 corporate changes across its parks

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation rolled out four wide-ranging changes in company policies and big-picture ideas last week that affect most of its theme parks.

These changes arrive following the recently installed new CEO of Six Flags, John Reilly, who replaced Richard Zimmerman in December 2025. The company-wide changes, all four described below, may or may not have already been in motion by the time Reilly arrived. Nonetheless, the announcements coming one after another paints a broader picture of a different regime managing the 50+ parks in Six Flags’ portfolio following the company’s 2024 merger with Cedar Fair.

Here are all four changes Six Flags implemented last week.

1.) New season pass structure

Six Flags announced a change to a regional season pass structure on Feb. 2, 2026. The new structure applies to Six Flags “gold” passes, and introduces four groups: East, Midwest, Texas, and West. (See which parks belong to which group below.) Guests who purchase a gold season pass to any Six Flags-owned park receive admission to all of the parks in that region.

“Silver”-level passes remain on an individual park-by-park basis.

Season passholders who already have a gold pass to a Six Flags park do not have to do anything to receive the added benefit of admission to all parks of their respective regional tier. If you already purchased a gold pass to any Six Flags park, you’ll automatically now receive 2026 admission to all the parks belonging to that park’s region.

Here’s a look at the breakdown of which Six Flags parks belong to each gold pass region:

“We’re redefining what a season pass or membership can be,” said John Reilly, president and CEO of Six Flags. “By including multiple parks with every gold pass, guests can explore more rides, more events, and more experiences all with one affordable pass. We’ll unlock more fun and adventure at an unbeatable value.”

2.) Revised filming policy for riders

Six Flags changed its park policy relating to guests filming while riding roller coasters, allowing recording with specific parameters.

The new procedure states guests are allowed to film on rides, including coasters, only if the recording device is a “glasses-based micro camera,” such as Meta Glasses, and if the glasses adhere to the given park’s glasses rules. See the full policy below.

This policy applies to all guests at all Six Flags-owned parks, AttractionsMagazine.com confirmed. Six Flags parks’ individual websites will eventually be updated to reflect the policy change.

The full, new filming policy at Six Flags parks is as follows:

On-ride photography is strictly prohibited on the majority of our attractions without park permission unless the recording device is a glasses-based micro camera (ex: Meta Glasses) that is secured to the head with an approved strap while riding. Small action cameras, including GoPro, DJI Osmo, DJI Pocket, etc. are not permitted on rides and attractions. Please review each ride’s safety guidelines for any additional restrictions.

Safety guidelines for every ride are clearly posted in detail via signage at the entrance to each attraction’s line.

For comparison, the rule previously stated: “Filming, regardless of device, secured or unsecure, is prohibited on most rides and attractions.”

3.) Different method for earning passholder rewards

Six Flags changed the way season passholders at almost all Six Flags-owned parks receive exclusive benefits.

Six Flags will now reward season passholders with “Pass Perks” automatically rather than require passholders to earn their benefits.

Previously, passholders needed to visit the parks a certain number of times to unlock specific benefits, often on a month-to-month basis. For example, one Pass Perk might be 50% off a snack if you visit three times in March. Now, however, Six Flags will distribute rewards regardless of how many times passholders visit (or if they even visit at all).

Six Flags calls the new system “Perks & Play.” The company will notify passholders of active rewards via email, push notifications from the Six Flags app, text messages, and in-park signage. Each benefit will be active for 1-2 weeks.

Rewards may include merchandise discounts, BOGO dining offers, free bring-a-friend ticket, savings on Fast Lane, or in-park currency.

This new policy applies to all Six Flags-owned parks except for La Ronde in Montreal, Canada.

Even if your season pass is valid for multiple Six Flags parks, your Pass Perks are only valid at your home park, the park where you activated your season pass.

4.) New ‘online gaming hub’

Six Flags will launch an “online gaming hub” called Midway Arcade, which the company calls “a community that extends beyond the park gates.” The official description reads:

Step right up to the Midway Arcade! Play virtual classic Six Flags carnival games, test your skills for a chance to win in-park prizes, and check your spot in the global leaderboards.

Judging by the promotional image for Midway Arcade, some of the prizes players can win include an all-season dining plan, drink plan, or Fast Lane access (Six Flags’ line-skipping system, similar to Disney’s Lightning Lane or Universal’s Express Pass).

Midway Arcade will launch at a future unannounced date. It remains to be seen what exactly the games will entail or how players will access Midway Arcade, but the Six Flags app seems likely.
