Six Flags invites grandparents for free, there’s no place like home park for the holidays
There’s no place like home for the holidays, and Six Flags is taking that sentiment quite literally in 2026. The amusement park company is inviting generations of families to make memories together at their home parks this season.

With expanded Christmas celebrations across 11 theme parks, new holiday entertainment and free admission for guests ages 65 and older, Six Flags is betting big on balls of holly.
In a companywide announcement this morning, Nov. 4, Six Flags highlighted expanded holiday celebrations across 11 theme parks, including reimagined Holiday in the Park events at Six Flags Great Adventure and Six Flags Over Georgia, seven new shows at Magic Mountain and a new Snoopy ice skating spectacular at Knott’s Berry Farm.
Much of that entertainment news had already been announced, but Six Flags saved one of its biggest surprises for the national reveal: free admission for guests ages 65 and older.
The new offer invites grandparents and other older family members to join the holiday fun at their home Six Flags parks without paying for admission.
Six Flags invites grandparents home for the holidays
The holidays are traditionally a time for generations to come together, and Six Flags is making it easier for grandparents to join the festivities without the added cost of admission.
New for 2026, guests ages 65 and older can receive free unlimited admission to their home Six Flags park through the end of its 2026 operating season. Eligible guests must register online and activate the offer at their home park before the season ends. Knott’s Berry Farm is excluded, and the offer does not include season pass benefits.
The timing is particularly fitting for the holidays, when families may be traveling to visit relatives or looking for activities that grandparents and grandchildren can enjoy together.
The senior offer also builds on Six Flags’ free Pre-K Pass program for eligible children ages 3–5, introduced earlier this year. With complimentary admission available to some of the youngest and oldest members of the family, Six Flags is creating more opportunities for multiple generations to enjoy the parks together.
And for grandparents who would prefer watching their grandchildren experience the magic of the holidays over riding a record-breaking roller coaster, there’s still plenty to celebrate.
Holiday experiences grandparents can enjoy with the family
Roller coasters may be Six Flags’ calling card, but the company’s holiday celebrations offer plenty of ways for grandparents to enjoy the parks alongside their children and grandchildren.
Across 11 parks celebrating the holidays in 2026, guests can enjoy millions of twinkling lights, elaborate decorations, Christmas music and live entertainment. Depending on the park, experiences include:
- Holiday shows: Seven new live productions at Six Flags Magic Mountain, featuring music, comedy, elves and Looney Tunes characters.
- Ice skating spectaculars: Knott’s Berry Farm’s new “Snoopy’s Christmas Follies” combines professional ice skaters, dancers, singers and Peanuts characters. Knott’s is excluded from the free senior admission offer.
- Tree-lighting ceremonies: Nightly spectaculars are among the additions to the reimagined Holiday in the Park celebrations at Six Flags Great Adventure and Six Flags Over Georgia.
- Traditional holiday activities: Visits with Santa Claus, cookie decorating, gingerbread house building and festive photo opportunities at select parks.
- Seasonal treats: Hot chocolate, holiday desserts, regional specialties and festive beverages offer opportunities to take a break and enjoy the atmosphere together.
Some activities require an additional fee, and offerings vary by park.
How to register for free Six Flags senior admission
Guests ages 65 and older can claim their free admission by following these steps:

- Add the free admission offer to your cart and complete the online checkout process.
- Visit your home park to activate the admission before the end of its 2026 operating season.
- Bring a valid photo ID showing your date of birth when visiting the park.
At Six Flags Over Georgia, eligible guests must have been born on or before Dec. 31, 1961. Registration is limited to two senior admissions per order.
