Six Flags Magic Mountain announces Wonder Woman: Flight of Courage roller coaster
Six Flags Magic Mountain has announced it will add the world’s tallest and fastest single-rail roller coaster, Wonder Woman Flight of Courage, to the park’s lineup in summer of 2022.
The California-based Six Flags park has officially confirmed it will be adding its 20th roller coaster, and it’s a beast of super hero proportions.
In a nod to Super Heroes’ speed and strength, Wonder Woman Flight of Courage will give riders the feel of flying single-file through the air while soaring along 3,300 feet of track boasting three inversions.
The coaster will top out at 13-stories (131 feet), and has a maximum speed of 58 miles per hour.
Visitors will enter a Greek architecture-inspired ride queue surrounded by lush landscaping recalling the hidden island of Themyscira as the backstory detailing how Wonder Woman gained her super powers unfolds.
The story extends to the coaster itself as riders join forces in the fight for truth and justice while diving, banking, rolling, and looping through the sky in their heroic quest.
Wonder Woman Flight of Courage, made by Rocky Mountain Construction, will be located in the DC Universe area on the former site of the Green Lantern attraction. It will make the park the world’s leader for the number of roller coasters.
“This is an historic milestone for our park as we introduce the latest addition to our unrivaled coaster dynasty, Wonder Woman Flight of Courage,” said Park President Dan McCoy. “Our partnership with Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment makes this accomplishment even more exciting, as we integrate the legacy of an iconic DC Super Hero into the theming of the ride. Additionally, we are creating a more innovating guest experience by redesigning one of our most popular areas, DC Universe.”
Along with the coaster, the area will receive an innovative new restaurant and bar, plus retail locations carrying exclusive DC branded merchandise.
Other DC-themed attractions in the land include Batman: The Ride suspended coaster, Superman: Escape From Krypton shuttle coaster, and Riddler’s Revenge stand-up coaster. Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth spinning ride also makes its home in the park.
Wonder Woman Flight of Courage joins other Wonder Woman-themed attractions at Six Flags parks across the country, such as Wonder Woman Golden Lasso roller coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth attractions at Six Flags America and Six Flags Great Adventure.
Six Flags Mexico in Mexico City also features a Wonder Woman 4-D free fly coaster.
