Six Flags Over Georgia to host Summer Vibes Festival, Pride Month

The inaugural Summer Vibes Festival and the returning Pride Month Celebration will both take place June 1-30, 2024 at Six Flags Over Georgia (near Atlanta).

Six Flags says you can “immerse yourself in a kaleidoscope of color” during the new Summer Vibes Festival. Six festival zones will house the event’s special offerings:

• Under the Sun, an umbrella canopy at the park’s entrance
• Splash of Color, an LED-covered area
• “Surfin’ USA,” a Broadway-style show at Dare Devil Dive Stage
• Butterfly Hill, a garden with oversized insects and flowers
• Forgotten Grotto, a garden paying tribute to the park’s defunct attractions
• Wacky Wavy Way, a promenade featuring inflatable figures often seen at car sales events

Within each zone, guests will find limited-time live entertainment (like the “Funtime Drumline” live band) and “Summer Yummers” menu items (like the piña colada funnel cake).

The Summer Vibes Festival debuted in 2022 at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Ill. This year will be the event’s first time at Six Flags Over Georgia.

Pride Month Celebration at Six Flags Over Georgia

Coinciding with the Summer Vibes Festival is Six Flags Over Georgia’s Pride Month Celebration. The park will feature Pride-focused photo ops, menu items, and merchandise.

From June 1-30, 2024, the park will donate 15% of proceeds from sales of Six Flags Pride merchandise collection items to local LGBTQIA+ organizations. These include Lost-n-Found Youth, a nonprofit serving LGBTQIA+ youth experiencing homelessness.

New Roller Coaster: Georgia Surfer

Sometime this summer (exact date TBA), Six Flags Over Georgia will open Georgia Surfer, a new roller coaster. The attraction foregoes the traditional roller coaster train vehicle in favor of a circle-shaped platform that independently spins while positioned on top of a surfboard-shaped structure that travels along a track.
