Slashers Axe Throwing & Ales is now open in Costa Mesa, California
If you enjoy the sport of axe throwing (or simply need to let out some aggression) and are also a fan of horror movies, you’ll love Slashers Axe Throwing & Ales in Costa Mesa, California. This new horror themed axe-throwing and bar venue is full of details to delight horror fans with numerous game options to enjoy.

As you enter the building, the space has the vibe as if you’ve just walked into the woods and stumbled upon a camp. You are now a camper, and the camp counselors are there to help you survive.

The story goes that the camp counselors read a weird book found in the forest, and now Camp Clear Water is plagued with monsters. You’ll need to be trained in proper axe-throwing self defense to protect yourself from the undead.

Reservations are made in 60-minute blocks and each lane can accommodate 1 to 4 campers. Each of the themed lanes is designed after an iconic slasher from horror movies. But you’re also given the ability to change your target to whichever slasher is your favorite.

In addition to taking aim at horror monsters, other interactive game options include tic-tac-toe, Alien Attack, Battle Stations, Bowling, and more. If it’s your first time wielding an axe, there’s nothing to worry about. The axes come in three different sizes, and the camp counselors will be happy to help you figure out which axe is the right size for your swing during orientation. The camp counselors are all very friendly, and frankly, they need your help killing the monsters and keeping camp safe.

The best way to enjoy your axe throwing experience is to make a reservation in advance. Slashers Axe Throwing & Ales does accept walk-ins, but lane priority is given to reservations. There are eighteen axe-throwing lanes total.

While visiting camp, enjoy a horror-themed drink from the superbly themed bar. Fans of horror films can spend a good amount of time seeking Easter eggs behind the bar. You may just spot an Audrey II or a “Handbook for the Recently Deceased” among other memorabilia. Plus, at the top of every hour you’ll get a show moment with the bar used as the focal point.

Axe-throwing is recommended for ages 13 and up. Spectators may come and enjoy watching their loved ones wield an axe, but everyone must purchase a ticket. Tickets are $40 per person for 60 minutes, or $65 per person for 120 minutes. You may hang around at the bar and enjoy the atmosphere after your game. Slashers Axe Throwing & Ales also throws themed events, so be sure to keep an eye on the events calendar. For more information and tickets, visit SlashersOC.com.
