SpongeBob x One Piece Happy Meal coming to McDonald’s Sept. 15
The Straw Hat Pirates are heading to Bikini Bottom — and now we know when their Happy Meal adventure reaches the United States.
McDonald’s confirmed Aug. 31 that its highly anticipated SpongeBob SquarePants x One Piece Happy Meal will launch at participating U.S. restaurants Sept. 15.
The announcement finally puts a U.S. date on the unusual crossover, which combines characters from Nickelodeon’s “SpongeBob SquarePants” with Eiichiro Oda’s “One Piece.”
McDonald’s revealed the date through its official social media account, writing, “we’ve truly entered the great Happy Meal era. SpongeBob x One Piece coming 9.15.”
The promotion is part of a worldwide McDonald’s rollout spanning dozens of countries and regions. The United States had previously been confirmed as one of the participating markets, but a U.S. launch date had not been announced.

The SpongeBob x One Piece Happy Meal will be available at participating McDonald’s restaurants beginning Sept. 15, while supplies last.

SpongeBob and One Piece in the theme parks
Both franchises have a growing presence in the theme park world. SpongeBob SquarePants is one of the featured Nickelodeon properties at the new Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, Texas, where Bikini Bottom is brought to life with attractions and character experiences. SpongeBob and other Nickelodeon characters have also appeared at Universal parks over the years.
One Piece made a major Universal appearance at Universal Fan Fest Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, with guests stepping into the world of the Straw Hat Pirates through a themed experience inspired by the anime. The franchise has also been a recurring part of Universal Studios Japan, including limited-time attractions, entertainment, food and merchandise tied to “One Piece.”
