This viral SpongeBob sundae might be an early hit at Universal Kids Resort

The Triple Gooberberry Sunrise sundae is already generating attention online ahead of Universal Kids Resort’s July 1 opening. Inspired by SpongeBob SquarePants’ iconic Goofy Goober Ice Cream Party Boat, the $19.99 dessert combines vanilla and chocolate ice cream, strawberry Dole Whip, chocolate fudge, crushed s’mores cookie crumble, strawberry Pop-Tart pieces, whipped topping, a banana and a cherry, all served in a souvenir cup.

The SpongeBob Sundae (formally named Triple Gooberberry Sunrise) at Universal Kids Resort is one of the park’s most photogenic snacks — and after trying it, I can see why it’s getting so much attention online.

For $19.99 with the souvenir cup, the sundae is about presentation, toppings and efficiency. Inside are layers of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry soft serve topped with chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce, whipped cream, a banana, cherry, M&M’s, brownie pieces and even chunks of Pop-Tart.

What surprised me most was how much was actually packed into the cup. Every few bites revealed something different. My son became obsessed with finding the Pop-Tart pieces, turning dessert into a treasure hunt.

It’s undeniably messy, wildly over-the-top and designed to be shared. While the ice cream itself is standard soft serve, the combination of toppings and the adorable SpongeBob presentation makes it feel like an attraction all its own.

Even though my son decided not to go on any of the SpongeBob-themed rides, he enjoyed the time we spent inside the Goofy Goober quick-service dining location and overall enjoyed the new kid-focused park.

This is exactly the kind of ridiculous SpongeBob-themed dessert that ends up all over social media — and in this case, it mostly lives up to the hype.
