5 films highlighted at Universal Studios Hollywood Mega Movie Summer 2026
Mega Movie Summer returns for its second year at Universal Studios Hollywood. This year, they’re celebrating the Fast & Furious and Minions franchises along with the upcoming blockbuster “The Odyssey”, and more.
1. Fast & Furious
While we’re still waiting for Universal Studios Hollywood to open the roller coaster ‘Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift‘ later this summer, you can already enjoy some Fast & Furious thrills during Mega Movie Summer.
Inside Universal Plaza, various picture cars are on display from the Fast & Furious franchise. You can get up close for the perfect picture with the 1941 Willy’s Coupe, the 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GTS, and the 1993 Mazda RX-7 FD.
New entertainment
New for this event is the ‘Fast & Furious Street Racers Dance Show,’ celebrating the 25th anniversary of the high-speed film franchise. If the Street Racers Dance Show inspires you to hit the dance floor yourself, a daily DJ will be spinning tunes for you to dance along to.
The Hollywood & Dine dining location near the park entrance has been transformed into Drift & Dine, featuring all-new food and drink offerings themed to Fast & Furious. Some items include the Grill Master’s Burger Meal, an LA Drift Dog Meal, an Orange Nitro Rush beverage, Quarter Mile Funnel Cake for dessert, and so much more.

2. Minions
If you’re getting excited for the release of “Minions & Monsters” on July 1, 2026, you’ll love seeing the new Minions’ antics happening at Universal Studios Hollywood. The new Minion stars, Henry and James, can be found meeting with guests at Super Silly Fun Land, as well as taking part in a new street show called ‘Minion Dance Party.’
The Minions are also popping up quite a bit on the Glam Tram screens during the World-Famous Studio Tour.
3. “The Odyssey”
Speaking of the World-Famous Studio Tour, Christopher Nolan fans will have the opportunity to see the screen-used ship from his upcoming summer blockbuster “The Odyssey”, being released July 17, 2026. Nolan appears on screen, sharing insight about production of the film while you ride by, taking in the massive size and scale of the ship.

4. “Jaws” (and Spielberg)
Legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg also takes part in new video segments for the World-Famous Studio Tour as audiences are currently watching his latest film, “Disclosure Day,” in theaters. Plus, Spielberg’s first summer blockbuster, “Jaws”, is represented at Mega Movie Summer with meet & greet appearances by Quint and Brody, as well as Jaws-themed food at Mel’s Diner.
5. “Wicked”
Whether you’re wicked or good, guests can meet Elphaba and Glinda as they’ve returned to the theme park for photo ops during Mega Movie Summer. Elphaba and Glinda typically alternate at their photo location on the Upper Lot.
