Universal Orlando announces ‘Terror Trivia’ for Halloween Horror Nights 2018

Universal Orlando Resort has introduced a new way to take part in the frightening fun of this year’s Halloween Horror Nights – Terror Trivia!

See who’s the biggest HHN fan in your group with Terror Trivia!

Found in the official Universal Orlando Resort app, Terror Trivia will allow guests to compete against each other in 11 levels of horror. The trivia will focus on this year’s 10 haunted houses and will include a bonus ‘History Rewind’ level for the die-hard HHN fans. This bonus level will quiz players on previous event years, haunted houses, icons, scare zones and more.

Guests playing the game will be able to challenge their friends, family, and even strangers they meet in line as they prove who is the top HHN fan. The goal is to be one of the “Top 20” scores of the evening and get your “Scream Name,” aka player alias, on the leaderboards shown live throughout the event.

Here’s how the game works:

Go into the Universal Orlando Resort app, tap any of the 10 haunted houses listed in the “Event” section to access Terror Trivia.

Next, choose your “Scream Name” and check out the instructions before you play.

As you enter the queue for each house, that house’s corresponding level will automatically unlock. You’ll know when it’s time to play when the bell icon in the corner displays the “unlock” notification. The “History Rewind” level will be randomly unlocked throughout the night.

You’ll have to answer the questions as fast as you can – and the faster you answer correctly, the more points you win!

You’ll immediately see your score once a house’s level is completed. If you want to earn more points, you can restart each level and try again. Terror Trivia will be a different game every time you play, as it pulls from a collection of over 350 questions at random.

You can only play the trivia game while you’re at the actual event, and levels will only unlock when you’ve physically entered a haunted house’s queue, so be sure to bring a portable charger with you and download the Universal Orlando app beforehand to keep the game going all night!

Here’s a hint: You may know a thing or two about the IP-based haunted houses and ace their levels… but you might want to experience each of the original houses at least once before you try your hand at those levels. Be sure to pay attention to all the little details!
