Disney Springs’ newest hot-spot, The Edison, opened with a roaring New Year’s gala to bring 2018 in with style.
The Edison, described as a “lavish, ‘Industrial Gothic’-themed” restaurant and entertainment venue, rang in 2018 with exciting performances, plentiful food stations, cocktails and a champagne toast as guests counted down to midnight.
Guests were welcomed into the venue on a Hollywood-style red carpet made from the train of a red ball gown, and stilted hosts in flapper attired welcomed everyone in. Inside, a live band, aerialists, cabaret dancers, variety acts and a DJ served as entertainment for the evening.
This hard-ticket event served as the grand opening for The Edison. During the day, this venue will be a fun themed dining experience for families. At night, the location will transform into the ultimate craft cocktail haven, with contemporary American fare and entertainment unique to Central Florida.
Being a fully immersive experience beyond its dining offerings, The Edison features multiple themed areas for guests to explore: The Lab performance space, Telegraph Lounge, The Ember Parlour, The Tesla Lounge, The Patent Office, The Waterfront Patio and The Radio Room.
“The lights are officially on at The Edison and we’re delighted that guests can now expirence the extraordinary entertainment, craft cocktails and cuisine unlike anything else in Central Florida,” said Nick Valenti, CEO of Patina Restaurant Group. “The reimagined power plant celebrates an era of invention and imagination in a new and distinct way.”
Open for lunch and dinner, The Edison offers contemporary American menu creations by Chef PJ Finneran that include Pork Belly Pops, Crispy Fried Chicken, and the signature The Edison Burger. The restaurant will soon introduce the Bartender’s Midnight Breakfast, a late-night menu that will offer traditional breakfast options and give guests a way to keep the party going as the night slows down.
The Edison’s cocktail lineup focuses on artful creations, house-made punches and unique beers and wines. The Edison Signature Series includes cocktails like The Wonderlust (Pernod Abseinthe, Nolet’s Gin, Crème de Violette, lemon and pineapple syrup), The Crimson Vesper (Absolut Elyx, Lilet Rouge, Plymouth Sloe Gin and orange), Lady Marmalade (Corsair Absinthe, Hangar One, Noilly Prat vermouth, Giffard Ginger, verjus and pomegranate), and The Edison (Woodford Reserve, Belle de Brillet Pear Liqueur and lemon).
The center of the restaurant hosts a stage for dancing and performances, where a lineup of eclectic live entertainers, musicians, dancers and aerialists will delight guests each night.
The Edison is now open to the public as of Jan. 3, and is open Sundays through Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. – 1 a.m., and Thursdays through Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. – 2 a.m. Guests to The Edison must be 21 or older starting at 10 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday nights.
