Visitors to Sea Life centers around the world will soon be able to take part in a new interactive activity trail, starting with the Mall of America location in Bloomington, Minnesota.

“The Great Gup Rescue” activity trail begins with an underwater storm, which created electrical problems that caused all the Gups (Octonauts’ aquatic vehicles) to stop working.

Participants will embark on a journey of discovery with favorite characters, completing missions and saving sea creatures along the way.

Preschoolers and their families can help characters Captain Barnacles and Dashi save the day and become heroes in a kid-friendly rescue mission, all while learning about conservation issues.

The new trail is a continuation of 2021’s successful activity trails that rolled out at 13 Sea Life centers and aquariums in the U.K. and Australasia, inspiring and educating guests about important eco issues as it joins an expanding portfolio of global live events.

“I’m always looking for exciting experiences for our guests at Sea Life at Mall of America,” said General manager Trisha Ruf, “[and] we are thrilled to have ‘The Great Gup Rescue.’ This partnership will spark even more imagination, adventure, and wonder with guests at Sea Life aquariums here in Minnesota and around the globe.”

“We are thrilled to be introducing a brand-new Octonauts activity trail at Sea Life centers this Spring,” added Lisa Macdonald, SVP content and consumer product sales at Silvergate Media. “Children will have the opportunity to become truly immersed in their own Octonauts adventure, and as restrictions begin to lift, it’s perfectly timed to meet rising consumer demand for live experiences that deliver on fun and education. […] We’re delighted that our latest collaboration with Merlin Entertainments will create real life experiences for families to enjoy.”
