Tiana’s Bayou Adventure utilizes a virtual queue and Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane access at Magic Kingdom. Here’s how to ride.

Starting June 28, 2024, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is open to all guests at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World near Orlando, Fla. — if you plan ahead.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Operations Details

There is no standby line for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. In other words, guests cannot ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure without a virtual queue return time or a Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane return time. Guests who approach the attraction without either of these will not be able to ride.
Notably, Disney says, “While a standby queue will not be available during the attraction’s initial opening days, we expect to open a standby queue soon after the attraction’s opening.” Disney did not specify an exact date for this transition, so for now, a virtual queue or Lightning Lane reservation is necessary.

So how does all that work? Let’s dive into the details for how to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure using the virtual queue or Disney Genie+.
Note: These instructions refer to the Walt Disney World version of the attraction only. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will also debut later in 2024 at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif. Disney has not yet announced ride operations details for the west coast.
Virtual Queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
How do I join the virtual queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure?
- Open the My Disney Experience app.
- On the home screen, scroll down until you see the virtual queue graphic.
- Tap “Join Virtual Queue.”
- At the top of the next screen, tap “Magic Kingdom.”
- On the following screen, you’ll see options for “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” and “Tron Lightcycle / Run.” Select Tiana and tap “Join Virtual Queue.”

What time does the virtual queue reservation process start?
7 a.m. and 1 p.m. There will be two separate drops for virtual queue availability for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, so if you miss out on the morning drop, you can try again in the afternoon.
The 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. drop times for virtual queue reservations are available to all guests, regardless of if you’re staying overnight at a Disney resort hotel or not.
Do I need to be inside Magic Kingdom to acquire a virtual queue reservation?
For the 7 a.m. drop, guests can be anywhere to reserve a virtual queue return time for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
For the 1 p.m. drop, guests must be inside Magic Kingdom to obtain a virtual queue reservation. The My Disney Experience app will not complete the reservation if you are not in Magic Kingdom at that time.
How much money does joining the virtual queue cost?
$0. Joining the virtual queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is free, included with park admission to Magic Kingdom.

How many times can I join the virtual queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure?
Once per day.
Can I join the virtual queue for multiple attractions at once?
No. If you join the virtual queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, you must wait until you’ve ridden the attraction to join a virtual queue for another Disney World ride.
On this subject, Disney says, “Guests can only hold one attraction virtual queue at a time. Once the attraction virtual queue is redeemed, guests can join another attraction virtual queue, if available.”
In addition to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Disney currently uses the virtual queue process for Tron Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot.
Disney Genie+, Lightning Lanes, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Is Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on Genie+?
Yes. Lightning Lane access to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is offered through Disney Genie+ as part of Magic Kingdom’s selection of attractions utilizing a Lightning Lane.
In other words, when you purchase Genie+ for your day at Magic Kingdom, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will appear among the list of attractions you can select to reserve Lightning Lane access throughout your day (pending availability).

How do I reserve Lightning Lane access to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure?
First, purchase Genie+ for everyone in your travel party who will be riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. You can purchase the service beginning at midnight the day of your visit.
Beginning at 7 a.m., open the My Disney Experience app and reserve Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as your first Lightning Lane selection for the day. The 7 a.m. start time for Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations is available to all guests, regardless of if you’re staying overnight at a Disney resort or not.
You can also reserve Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as a Lightning Lane selection later in your day (pending availability).

How much does Genie+ cost for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure?
The cost of Genie+ fluctuates day to day, but is around $30 per person.
Your purchase of Genie+ for the day grants you access to reserve Lightning Lane entry for any eligible attraction in Magic Kingdom, not just Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. You’ll also have access to photo filters, audio tours, and other features beyond Lightning Lanes.
Does Tiana’s Bayou Adventure have an “individual” Lightning Lane?
No. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will not be available as an individually purchased Lightning Lane selection (otherwise known as “a la carte”). Magic Kingdom’s Lightning Lane entrances for individual purchase are Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Tron Lightcycle /Run.
I heard Disney is changing Genie+. Will this affect Tiana’s Bayou Adventure?
Disney announced that effective July 24, 2024, Disney Genie+ will become “Lightning Lane Multi Pass,” among a few other changes to the Lightning Lane reservation process. These new procedures do not affect the opening days of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
