‘Together We Are Magia’ celebration is coming to Walt Disney World this fall

New magia (magic) is coming to Walt Disney World as part of the resort’s “Together We Are Magia” celebration for Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month.

From Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, 2023, “Together We Are Magia” will include special musical guests, new character interactions, delicious culinary offerings, and new merchandise.

La Magia of “Encanto”

The magical Madrigal family will kick off the celebration of Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month as Mirabel welcomes guests to her casita starting Sept. 15, 2023 (Mirabel will be appearing year-round in Magic Kingdom).

Plus, Mirabel’s uncle Bruno (who we do occasionally talk about) will also make his debut on Sept. 15, 2023, as part of the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade along with Princess Elena of Avalor, José Carioca and Panchito from “The Three Caballeros,” and Miguel from “Coco.” The cavalcade makes its way through Magic Kingdom Park several times daily.

“Together We Are Magia” Musical Performances

In addition to returning favorites, Three new acts are scheduled to debut at the America Gardens Theatre for Epcot International Food & Wine Festival’s Eat to the Beat Concert series. All performances will take place at 5:30 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8 p.m.

  • Sept. 15, 2023 – Colombian duo Monsieur Periné (new)
  • Sept. 16-17, 2023 – Dominican Republic merengue stars Raul Acosta and Oro Sólido (new)
  • Sept. 18, 2023 – International band Bacilos (new)
  • Sept. 22-24, 2023 – Los Amigos Invisibles from Venezuela (returning)

Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month Food & Merchandise

Guests will find delicious treats across Walt Disney World Resort during Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month. A complete Foodie Guide will be available on Sept.7, 2023.

International Food & Wine International Festival global marketplaces also highlight Hispanic and Latin American cuisine (the festival runs until Nov. 18, 2023). Click here for the complete festival menu.

Some of the festival offerings include:

  • Mexico Marketplace – Tostada de Carnitas (braised pork on a fried corn tortilla with black beans, avocado mousse, queso fresco and chives); Taco de Costilla (slow-braised beef short rib on a corn tortilla with salsa de chile Morita, avocado mousse and spring onions); and Pastel Impossible (layers of traditional Mexican flan and tres leches with guava and cajeta)
  • Spain Marketplace – Charcuterie (a selection of imported Spanish meats, cheeses, and olives, served with a herbed vinaigrette); Paella made with saffron rice, chorizo, and shrimp; and Seafood Salad featuring shrimp, bay scallops, mussels, extra virgin olive oil, white balsamic vinegar and smoked paprika
  • Brazil Marketplace – Feijoada (black beans with crispy pork belly, Brazil nut pesto, and long grain white rice); and Pão de Queijo(Brazilian cheese bread)
  • The Fry Basket Marketplace – Adobo Yuca Fries served with a garlic-cilantro aioli
  • Flavors from Fire Marketplace – Chimichurri Marinated Skirt Steak Taco served with crushed avocado, grilled corn salsa, pickled red onions, queso fresco, and cilantro-lime cream

The 2023 Epcot International Food & Wine Disney Encanto Collection features a colorful serving platter and apron in vibrant colors, plus new merchandise from Disney/Pixar’s “Coco” and Disney “Encanto” will arrive for the celebration (and beyond).

Even More Magia

During the celebration, Disney Skyliner gondolas will be decorated with the Familia Madrigal from “Encanto,” and Walt Disney World transportation buses will feature characters from “Coco.”

Guests can also test their knowledge of Miguel and Mirabel while waiting in attraction queues via the Play Disney Parks app. The interactive experience can be found on Google Play and the App Store.

Last but not least, Hispanic and Latin American cultures will be celebrated through art, like Hispanic-themed Movies Under the Stars (including “Coco” and “Encanto”) at hotels across the resort, art lessons for characters featured in “Coco at Animation Experience in Animal Kingdom, and a new mural live-painted at the Disney Springs Art Walk by Miami-based Cuban artists TRATOS.
