‘Tron: Ares’ red overlay POV of Tron Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom

A “Tron: Ares” overlay of the Tron Lightcycle / Run roller coaster is now open at Magic Kingdom; watch a POV of the “red version” of the ride and learn all the details of this limited-time experience below.

The overlay opened on Sept. 15, 2025, at Walt Disney World near Orlando, Fla., and will follow on Sept. 16 at Shanghai Disneyland in China. Disney has not announced how long the overlay will be open.

Not only is the color different (usually you’re “Team Blue”), but the script is new. The bad guy’s trying to get you to help him capture all the gates. The “Tron: Ares” version of the coaster also features new music by Nine-Inch Nails featured in the film.

Watch our POVs in the video below, first from the front row and then from the back row.

The overlay was just announced two weeks ago at Destination D23, Disney’s official fan convention, alongside a slate of lots more Disney theme park news for the future.
