Tron Lightcycle / Run signage installed – two weeks before previews

In another major step towards completion, the Tron Lightcycle / Run signage has been installed at the Magic Kingdom. With just two weeks until cast member previews begin, there is little left to complete before this high-speed coaster opens.

Tron Lightcycle / Run will become the new fastest attraction at the Magic Kingdom and is placed right next to Space Mountain (what many currently consider the most-thrilling attraction at Magic Kingdom park). The original version of Tron Lightcycle / Run is in Shanghai Disneyland. This upcoming Magic Kingdom launching roller coaster will take guests out and above Tomorrowland before venturing into “The Grid.”

Tron Lightcycle / Run opening date announcement.

This attraction officially opens to the public on April 4, 2023, but cast member and annual passholder previews will come first. Currently, the only virtual queue being used at Walt Disney World is for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot, but we expect this attraction will also have a virtual queue when it opens.

With the Tron Lightcycle / Run signage installed, the only final details left that we can see are planting foliage, though smaller details may be being worked on inside. However, with less than two weeks until previews, we expect the coaster is ready to roll-out into Tomorrowland.

You can get a preview of this upcoming attraction by viewing our nighttime POV video of the attraction at Shanghai Disneyland. Or save yourself the spoilers for your first ride into “The Grid” in Tomorrowland.
