Two new ‘Princess and the Frog’ shops coming to Disneyland

Disneyland Resort has announced that guests will soon be able to shop at Ray’s Berets and Louis’ Critter Club, two new stores in Critter Country inspired by “The Princess and the Frog.”

Ray’s Berets (currently The Briar Patch) will sell headwear, apparel, accessories, toys, and more. The shop is named after none other than the beloved firefly Ray from the 2009 Disney animated film. 

At Louis’ Critter Club (currently the left-hand side of Pooh Corner), visitors will be able to purchase apparel, accessories, home decor, and more featuring favorite critters and Princess Tiana.

The treats side of Pooh Corner will remain a destination for must-have merchandise from Hundred Acre Wood, including popular sweets like Tigger tails. 

Due to the reimagining of the shops, Critter County will temporarily close beginning May 1, 2024.

As reported by Scott Gustin, Hungry Bear Restaurant, also located in Critter Coutnry, will remain open as a quick service dining location, but The Many Adventures of Winnie will be closed temporarily. Gustin also reports that no changes are planned for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, which will reopen with the land.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Of course, the addition of the stores follows in the footsteps of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which is set to open later this year in Critter Country. The same attraction is opening in summer 2024 at Magic Kingdom.

The brand new “Princess and the Frog-” themed attraction will include dozens of new Audio-Animatronics characters, including Louis, Mama Odie, Prince Naveen, Eudora (Tiana’s mother), Charlotte (Tiana’s best friend), and Prince Ralphie (Naveen’s little brother).

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is replacing Splash Mountain at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. In 2023, the Splash Mountain attraction in Orlando, Fla. closed several months before the ride in Anaheim, Calif.
