Uncharted multi-dimension roller coaster opens at PortAventura World
The all-new, multi-dimension, multi-launch, 2,300 foot long Uncharted: The Enigma of Penitence is open at PortAventura World. This new attraction is a collaboration by Sony Pictures Entertainment, Intamin Amusement Rides, Sally Dark Rides and Columbia Pictures.
Uncharted: The Enigma of Penitence is an indoor roller coaster with five launches and is the first in Europe to have a lateral drop. This dark ride roller coaster, designed as a family concept, takes riders through 29 key immersive experience moments. The attraction, which reaches a height of 39 feet in the air, utilizes a 360-degree rotating platform, a 70-degree incline, an inverted launch and a sideways drop, the first of its kind in the world.
“The Uncharted film takes viewers on a grand adventure in search of treasure, making it perfectly suited for a thrilling roller coaster ride,” said Asad Qizilbash, Head of PlayStation Productions. “We can’t wait for fans and newcomers alike to experience key moments from the film in this vibrant attraction.”
Special VR offering for Guests with Disabilities
Uncharted: The Enigma of Penitence, has developed an exclusive experience for visitors with functional diversity. An accessible VR experience is offered where guests can experience the story of the attraction as if they had been on the ride. The multi-dimension roller coaster also has barrier-free access for those who do want to ride the full attraction experience.
